In an era marked by rapid cultural, social, and media transformations, revisiting Islamic thought in response to emerging contemporary issues has become an undeniable necessity. The Journal of Modern Islamic Studies in the Context of Modernity was established with precisely this concern in mind: to build a bridge between the rich heritage of Islamic teachings and the pressing questions of modern humanity.
The second issue of this journal presents a collection of scholarly and problem-oriented studies, each approaching the challenges and capacities of contemporary society from a distinct perspective. From educational and ethical discussions to issues concerning family, media, religious identity, and Islamic philosophy, the articles aim not only to provide theoretical insights but also to offer practical and socially relevant analyses.
In this issue, topics such as self-purification, family mental health, the role of women in strengthening emotional relationships, the impact of social media on religious thought, the political education of future generations, and the harms of materialism and declining social honor all demonstrate that Islamic thought continues to possess the capacity to address the needs and crises of modern human life. Furthermore, the discussion on bodily resurrection in relation to contemporary philosophy reflects the importance of fostering intellectual dialogue between the Islamic philosophical tradition and modern thought.
Undoubtedly, the growth and dynamism of Islamic studies can only be achieved when scholars maintain fidelity to authentic religious sources while adopting innovative approaches that correspond to the demands of the present age. Accordingly, this journal seeks to provide a platform for intellectual exchange, the advancement of interdisciplinary research, and the expansion of academic dialogue.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all respected researchers, authors, and reviewers whose scholarly efforts contributed to the publication of this issue. It is hoped that this collection will serve as a meaningful step toward the production of up-to-date Islamic knowledge capable of responding to the challenges of contemporary society, and that it will benefit professors, students, and all those interested in the field of Islamic studies.
