This study examines the semantic structure of Surah al-Kawthar through the contrast between the two key concepts of abundance and severance. Although the surah is very brief, it contains a dense and coherent system of meaning that cannot be fully understood only through historical or occasion-based interpretation. The research asks how the surah, through its central vocabulary and contrastive structure, challenges the discourse of severance and presents a new understanding of abundance, continuity, and identity. Using a descriptive-analytical method based on a semantic approach and library research, the study argues that al-Kawthar is not merely a specific blessing, but the core of a conceptual system signifying goodness, divine gift, abundance, and lasting continuity. In contrast, abtar is not only a lexical expression of being cut off, but also a sign of a negative discourse grounded in deprivation and discontinuity. The findings show that the semantic coherence of the surah is built around three main movements: the declaration of divine gift, the devotional response to this gift, and the return of the judgment of severance to the opposing discourse. In this framework, abundance is understood not simply in a quantitative sense, but as fruitful and enduring plenitude. Thus, Surah al-Kawthar offers a profound Quranic model for redefining abundance, dignity, survival, and prophetic identity.
